New Fireplace Inserts & Wood Stove Installations

Does your house have an existing masonry or metal fireplace that you don’t use, either because you don’t want to fuss with a real fire or because you have no idea if it’s even usable? Well, that makes you a great candidate for a fireplace insert. Aelite Chimney can transform your old drafty fireplace by outfitting your home with a wood-, gas- or pellet-burning fireplace insert. We are also happy to install wood-burning stoves. Following an inspection, we can discuss which insert or stove might work best for you based on your fireplace and venting options and your preferences about design, maintenance and warmth.

Inserts grow more popular each year for good reason: they’re easy to use, easy to maintain and easy on the eyes. Inserts, which are basically self-contained fireboxes, work by circulating and heating air inside of the firebox, and then venting smoke and combustion byproducts through your chimney. The great thing about inserts is that they are more efficient than traditional fireplaces, which tend to heat the room they’re in and leave the other rooms in your home ice cold. It can also be argued that most of the heat from a traditional fireplace will escape through the chimney.

Gas-burning Fireplace Inserts

Gas-burning inserts radiate cozy heat and offer realistic-looking fires for both warmth and ambiance. They can be either compact or expansive. A lot of modern gas fireplaces will let you adjust flame height and intensity via a remote, making them incredibly efficient and convenient.

Some inserts use gas logs while other models simply contain flames or make it appear as though rocks or pebbles are on fire. In addition, some gas appliances have louvers, which are slanted grilles above and/or below the firebox opening, that help circulate heated air into the room. With help from your chimney professional, you may choose either a vented or ventless appliance. The former draws combustion air from outside and then exhausts outside, while the latter draws all air from inside the home and then vents outside.

Wood-burning Fireplace Inserts

Give your old masonry fireplace new life with a wood-burning insert, which is a highly efficient and clean way to heat your home. In fact, these inserts can pack a lot of heat without sacrificing the rugged style you’re looking for. Read more about our wood-burning inserts here.

Pellet-burning Fireplace Inserts

Chosen primarily for their fuel efficiency, wood pellets have emerged as a popular eco-friendly alternative fuel to use in fireplace inserts and freestanding stoves. These pellets are made of sawdust and wood shavings and are great because they’re cost-effective and turn wood waste into energy-dense fuel.

Wood Stoves

If your fireplace isn’t working, another option is to put a freestanding wood stove in your home. Wood stoves are about as traditional as they get, but many modern models exist now to suit all different home styles.
