Grays Lake is located in the middle of the Village of Grayslake. Grays Lake is an 80-acre playground for residents and visitors. There are approximately 2 miles of lake shore with fishing, boating, swimming, skating, and hockey. Today, the best public access is via Jones Island and Beach.

The Grayslake Aquatic Center is a public playground for water enthusiasts of all ages. Little ones enjoy the children’s play area and the beach. Teenagers gravitate to the 120’ and 180’ slides, climbing wall and basketball area. Adults appreciate the lounge chairs, lap lanes and beach. The Aquatic Center also offers swim lessons and hosts special events throughout the summer. You can even rent the facilities for private parties.

In 2014, Grayslake received its 20th annual designation as a “Tree City USA” by the National Arbor Day Foundation. The NADF recognizes cities across the U.S. who have committed to making tree preservation and management a priority within their town.

Each year, Grayslake’s Brewfest attracts breweries, visitors, food venders, and musicians from around Grayslake for an afternoon of summer fun. The Grayslake Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Brewfest, and the proceeds from the Fest are designated to college scholarships.
